The case of Sara Bareilles and the line between our emotions and the artist's freedom of expression

I think as fans, we have a duty to be emotional and let the star know when she is pushing the right buttons. However, we have no right to hold her hostage. What I mean is that we still have to come to the reality that she is a singer/songwriter, not a licensed psychologist. And with that being said, how can we expect her to try and keep us happy all the time. I think if we come to the understanding of this, it allows the artist to retain her personal freedom, which is obviously a creative necessity. Besides, one can usually gauge a person's intent not by what they say, but how they say it, and the context of the situation in which they are saying it. If her diarrhea of creativity makes us jump for joy, GREAT!! if it doesn't, GREAT!! Lets allow her to be the artist. And let us wait in anticipation of her next works, cause they are definitely going to make us feel something. Thats for sure. I'm a little late to the party, and I'm still looking back at some of her previous works like Fairytale, which took me off my damn cloud. And then back to her newer works or recent songs which put me back on the cloud. Serious roller coaster being a fan of Sara Bareilles.
